Remember John Tansey
John 1969
John 2007 What was your nickname at Priory? Nickname may be unprintable
When did you teach at Priory Jan 1967 to July 1970
How did you locate the Priory website? Haydn Rhodes sicced Stephen on me!
Haydn Rhodes
Who were your most memorable teachers? Richard Wingate who was the wildest colleague I have known. I lost touch when he ducked below my radar in BC Canada.
Richard Wingate
Who were your best friends at Priory? Anne King, Haydn, Norah, and anyone who would protect me from the antics of Randy, Simon, Ofer et al.
Anne King & Norah Hernould
Ofer Zusmanovith
Who are you in touch with today? Haydn and Anne (now and then) Living so far apart makes this quite intermittent, despite good intent. This site will enliven this process. Randy has already been in touch, so beware!
Who would you like to track down? Anyone who remembers the glory days or just wants to hit back.
What was the wildest thing you ever did at Priory? Tried to eat Miss Lou's pickapeppa sauce. Apparently this was an "initiation" for new teachers and they they caught a live one in me. I was however able to speak again after several days much to the chagrin of my math classes
Miss Lou Sullivan
What memories/views do you have of Priory? All good memories of great staff wonderful kids supportive parents and admin. It was my first experience abroad and was a maturing one (despite what my friends say) It was a wonderful school and I learned a great deal, which might sound contradictory, but teachers in good schools should learn also.
Who was the craziest person during your time at Priory? Randy and Simon were less crazy than interesting, and they certainly made the day go by quickly...Mercifully.
Randy Cargill
Simon Blake Where do you live and what do you do nowadays? I live in Niagara on the Lake in Canada. I am some 7 years retired from a school called Crescent School in Toronto. I play golf badly, we travel, my wife Jane still has a business in Ajax which keeps her occupied. I have done a little substitute teaching in the area. We keep fit and thoroughly enjoy life with friends and family.
Tell us about any significant others Wife, Jane (first wife whom you may remember no longer attached) she also was in Jamaica and we met up again in England. I persuaded her to come to Canada and the rest is all good. 3 children, 3 grandchildren. Two of our children now live in the US and the other one in Toronto. Many of our friends in Canada were also in Jamaica in the 60's and 70's It seems that it was the natural place to come to prior to going home. We never went, life is too good here.
